Jotsoma Youth Organisation has described as “baseless … and a glaring example of spitting venom” about the allegations leveled against it by the Kigwema Youth Society (KYS) of starting a recent bush fire and that the Jotsoma village was encroaching boundaries at Japfü Range.
JYO president Vilhubilie Peseyie and secretary Kereingukho Rino in a joint statement asserted that the Jotsoma village knew its boundaries and was prepared to guard its own land whatever the outcome be.
Reiterating that the Jotsoma village believed in peaceful co-existence with its neighbours, the JYO notified that “encroachers” would be responsible for their own deeds.
JYO notified the KYS that if there was any dispute in any portion of Jotsoma Village boundary, they might indicate the portion of the dispute on the spot.
The JYO said that the KYS has been “sowing seeds of discord” between the two villages since November 25, 2008 with a series of provocative statements which was viewed as “signs of desperation.”
It warned the KYS to refrain from publishing such provocative statements and said that the latter would be held responsible for any eventuality arising out of such “baseless allegations.”
It may be mentioned that the KYS has earlier accused the Mithun owners from Jotsoma village of starting a bush fire at Japfü range also encroaching upon the Kigwema land at Japfü range.
