DMC informs shopkeepers on rates
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) market rate control cell has informed that some shopkeepers under DMC jurisdiction were found selling goods above DMC prescribed rates especially meat, chicken eggs, fish and perishable goods violating the office standing order. The DMC in a press release by market rate control cell advisor Atovi Zhimomi has cautioned shopkeepers to follow the price fixed by DMC in the interest of the public failing which it would take appropriate action leading to imposition of fine/cancellation of trade licence and impoundment of their goods.
DYO bans hunting, fishing
KOHIMA: Dapfhütsumia Youth Organization (DYO) has reiterated its stand to prohibit hunting and fishing of wildlife, collection of firewood and jungle fowls, burning of jungle and any form of bio-piracy within its jurisdiction. DYO president Kereisiezo Sachü stated that there were violators acting against the standing prohibition despite repeated appeal and notifications. Therefore, the organization has deployed youth volunteers to areas within its jurisdiction to safeguard the land and resources and also to take stern action against defaulters. DYO further appealed to the public to comply with the order.

DIMAPUR: Breeze company would open its Kohima Branch on May 4 with Arthur Edward, managing director, Breeze Company and administrator, Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary, Dimapur as guest of honour. The Kohima branch will be located at Old Taxi Stand and will be known as Pete Breeze functioning both as bakery and confectionary.
PVC urge for recovery of NREGA fund
DIMAPUR: Pangti Village Council (PVC) has lauded the authorities for arresting culprits who looted an amount of Rs. 24 lakhs meant for disbursement of NREGA scheme for Pangti village on November 11, 2009. However, the council expressed regret that no information was available to the village council regarding the recovery of the said amount and requested the responsible authorities to release the amount in full latest by May 2010 or hand over the culprits to PVC.
English worship service in GCKA
DIMAPUR: A worship in English language as Living Faith Fellowship would begin on May 9 at 3 pm instead of 10 am at the Chapel Hall of Great Commission Kids Academy (GCKA). KVC bans hunting and fishing
DIMAPUR: The Khriezephe Village Council (KVC) has banned hunting and fishing from May 8 at Khriezephe village from 7pm onwards and also informed that defaulters would be penalized. Informing this in a press note issued by Jonah Kemp, chairman KVC has requested the share holder/land owner of Khriezephe village to meet before May 20 at council hall and further said failing which the council would take its own course of action.
