Eastern Nagaland Educated Unemployed Union (ENEUU) has supported the memorandum to the government by Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) for exemption of six tribes of Nagaland from the preview of the memorandum issued by the government where it mentioned that minimum qualification of LDA cadre in district directorate and secretaries’ level was fixed as graduate with computer diploma certificate.
Union stated that exemption of six tribes viz. Chang, Khiamniungan, Sangtam, Phom, Konyak and Yimchunger will have a far reaching negative impact to the communities of the Eastern Nagaland as most of the students’ community lacked the set criteria due to “varied reasons” It will also affect the six tribes in the ongoing recruitment process in the vacancy created due to Nagaland retirement/superannuation Act 2009 as there was countable graduate and computer diploma holder among the Eastern Nagaland tribes.
Further, the union alleged that on-going compilation process for recruitment to LDA posts in all directorates depicted a clear picture of “suppression policy” where most of the candidates of Eastern Nagaland were rejected in lieu of the criteria in the memorandum.
Union has requested the government to issue remedial directives to all departments of Nagaland to either stop or accept applications of the Eastern Nagaland candidates and to fulfill the demand of the ENSF for exemption order and to set 12th standard, PU pass for the Eastern Naga candidate as a safeguard from the issued memorandum.
