DSTKP general session
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Satakhami Tokukujo Kuposhkulu (DSTKP) ahs invited all s Dimapur Satakhami HS and college students, citizens and non citizens for its general session to be held May 8 , 10 am at the Tourist lodge. The chief guest for the occasion will be Azheto Zhimomi , MLA & advisor sericulture and cooperation while the chairperson would be DSTK president Hotoshe Chophy.
ZSUD condemns gang rape
DIMAPUR: Zeliang Students’ Union Dimapur (ZSUD) has vehemently condemned the ‘barbaric’ gang rape by 4 non locals on April 24 and said that such cowardly behavior will make the society unsafe to live in. Union while appreciating the CAO UT-1 NSCN / GPRN for apprehending the culprits requested the authorities to book the culprits and award them the highest penalty. It further cautioned any individual, organization or group from bailing the accused persons.
YTA silver jubilee celebration
DIMAPUR: The Yimchungrü Theological Association (YTA) would be celebrating silver jubilee from May 21 to 23 at Shamator Town Baptist Church on the theme “To Shalomize”. All the office Bearers and executive members have been requested to reach Shamator on May 20 for necessary arrangement. Further, ‘Yimchungrü Christian Theology: A theological exploration of myth, symbol and values’, authored by S.J. Akhum, literature secretary YBBA was released on May 2 at Shamator Town Baptist Church by Singson, ADC, Shamator.
Training on MCG, GIA & Micro- Finance
DIMAPUR: Director, Rural Development Nagaland has informed that training on MCG, GIA and Micro-Finance would be held on May 11 at SIRD conference hall at 9am. All the BDOs, APOs and RDOs have been requested to attend the training and that non-attendance would be viewed seriously. Further, all project directors have been directed to inform all the BDOs and APOs under their jurisdiction about the training.
YSU informs first division holders
DIMAPUR: The Yanpha Students’ Union (YSU) has requested all the first division holders of HSLC and HSSLC examinations to submit a photo copy of admit card and marksheet to the union office and for more information to contact the union president on 9856684496.
CSDD informs new office bearers
DIMAPUR: The Consumer Society Dimapur District (CSDD) has informed the new office bearers and executive members to attend the office on May 6 at 10am at Millennium market complex, Dimapur along with two passport size photograph. Further appealed the business community, administration, advisors of DMC, police and general public not to entertain any donation or financial assistance in the name of Consumer Society Dimapur and also said if anybody found doing such, the complain may be directly lodged on 9436261538 or 9862574326.
PDPA meet held
DIMAPUR: Peren District Pensioners Association (PDPA) held its 5th general meeting on April 30 at Council hall Jalukie Town with EAC Athibung Temsuwati Ao as chief guest. About 400 pensioners attended the meeting and the house re-elected Azie Zeliang as president and elected other office bearers.
LSU to preserve flora and fauna
DIMAPUR: The Losami Students’ Union (LSU) went for repairing the sign boards of Wildlife Preservation Act 1993 on April 24 within its jurisdiction Chükhebori to Lanye River covering NH 150 and around 200 students participated in it. The union further urged the neighbouring villages to cooperate in preserving the rich flora and fauna.
CSU felicitation programme
KOHIMA: Chiechama Students’ Union will hold its 12th HSLC Felicitation programme on May 22 at 10 am at Ura Academy Hall with Teisovise, additional SP Kohima as the chief patron. All successful candidates of HSLC, parents and well wishers have been asked to attend the programme. Freshers have been asked to bring a photocopy of HSLC mark sheet along with them.
All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) meet
KOHIMA: Meeting of All Nagaland PWD(R&B) & (H) Work-charge Employees Association has been convened on May 12, 10:30 am at its head office Kohima. The main agenda of the meeting will be on fixed labour pay enhancement and regularization of W/C staff. All unit president and secretary of the association have been informed to attend the meeting.
ASC emergency executive meeting
DIMAPUR: An emergency executive meeting of Ao Students’ Conference (ASC) has been convened on May 8 at the office conference hall from 11am. All executive members, senior executives and tribunals have been requested to attend the meeting. Further, in a joint press statement S. Bendang Aier, president and Tongpang Ozukum, general secretary ASC said on representation being submitted to minister Higher Education to requisite the six lecturers who were transferred along with post on deputation from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, the department has not responded to their demand nor any measures have been initiated till date. Hereby the ASC has informed that they would initiate their own appropriate and befitting action and for which the department and the other officials would be solely responsible for any untoward consequences arising out of the students’ action.
Total sanitation rally at Pfutsero town
DIMAPUR: With the theme “Sanitation for Healthy Living “, a total sanitation rally would be held on May 8 at Pfutsero town where all the youth drawn from different churches will participate. The Rally would start from Town centre point near SBI, Pfutsero at 7 am and march towards Mission compound and gather at Government High School for the main rally. All the responsible citizens and the youth have been requested to participate in the rally. The sanitation rally is being organized by the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) and Baptist Youth Fellowship Pfutsero (BYFP) and sponsored by CCDU, PHED. Further, the rally would be addressed by Rev. Dr. D. Kenye, development director CBCC; Kewekha Mero, ADC Pfutsero; Er. Veniezo Nienu, EE PHED Phek and Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, ES CBCC and chaired by Vikuo Rhi, youth secretary CBCC.
KTSSU new team
DIMAPUR: The Kiphire Town Sangtam Students’ Union (KTSSU) has elected the new team of office bearers for the present tenure with Tonglise as president, Rodney C as general secretary and other secretaries, women coordinators, executive committee members and advisory board members. This has been informed in a press note issued by R. Joshua Sangtam, 27th Election Commission KTSSU.
W’shop on bio-medical
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) has informed that a workshop on bio-medical waste management would be held on May 7 at 10am at NPCB conference hall, Signal Point Dimapur.

DIMAPUR: All the executive committee members of Dimapur District Ao Pensioners’ Union (DDAPU) have been requested to attend the executive body meeting convened on May 8 at the residence of union treasurer at 9am.
KSU to observe platinum jubilee
DIMAPUR: Kyong Students Union (KSU) in commemoration of 75th platinum jubilee celebration will be organising cultural exchange programme with neighbouring tribes featuring cultural troupes from Ao, Sema, Assames and Kyong tribes on May 14 and 15 at Town Hall, Wokha. The inaugural session will be graced by parliamentary secretary prisons and home guards Er. W. Kithan and Census Director Hekali Zhimomi as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
The second session will be attended by Additional chief secretary and development commissioner Alemtemshi Jamir and director industries and commerce Er, Keppen as chief guest and guest of honour.
AIDS Orphans’ Day on May 7
KOHIMA: Nagaland State AIDS Control Society along with FXB Suraksha will observe World AIDS Orphans’ Day on May 7 at 10 am at State Academy Hall, Kohima. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo Nienu will be the chief guest.
ATAS formation gathering
DIMAPUR: The Indian chapter of Association of Top Achiever Scouts (ATAS) would be having a formation gathering on June 26 at Bengalure, Karnataka. DEO informs redeployed teachers
DIMAPUR: District Education Officer Dimapur Y Khethoshe Yepthomi has informed all teachers who were redeployed vide order no EDN /DISD /EST -18/2010-11 dated April 26 and subsequent cancellation /retention after re-deployment has been cancelled as directed by Commissioner & secretary to the government of Nagaland and ex officio director school education Kohima vide order number ED /DSE -3/2005-06 dated May 4 .
All re-deployed teachers have been directed to join their respective place of posting on or before May 10 and submit their joining report. The DEO further informed that pay would not be prepared from May onwards, for those who fail to comply with this order.
Chakhesang Region, FGN new ‘Midan Peyu’
DIMAPUR: In a simple function the handing and taking over ceremony of office of Midan Peyu, Chakhesang Region, FGN was held on May 4 at Phek.
Outgoing Midan Peyu, K.L. Kronu handed over the office to new Midan Peyu, Swüduve Nakro, after making a solemn declaration.
According to Suluneyi Vero, Secretary, Chakhesang Region, FGN, the function was attended by Regional Council, NNC Authorities, Naga Army Officers, Leacy Executives and Regional Authorities. Kedallo, FGN, Zhopra Vero and Killo Killonser, FGN Zaleo Sapuh also attended the function. The gathering dispersed after a lunch hosted by outgoing and new Midan Peyu of Chakhesang Region, FGN.
Farmers training on oil seeds held
DIMAPUR: Farmers training on oil seed cum seed distribution was conducted at SDAO’s off compound Kiphire town on April 29. The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of SDAO Kiphire G Kiveyi Sumi , SDAO Kiphire who also gave the welcome address and introduction of the participants. The topic for the training programme was cultivation of groundnut and sesamum.
The programme was attended by , Dr NK Patra and S Das from SASRD Nagaland University as resource persons along with Dr AK Maker also from SASRD . About 150 farmers participated in programme during which fruitful interactions were held and Kharif seeds of groundnut, soya bean, maize, sesamum , paddy, etc. were distributed to the farmers.
ANGDA holds conference
DIMAPUR: The third sessional conference of All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Association (ANGDA) was held on May 1 at Phek, SIRD conference hall under the theme, “Work determines merit” with Mikha Lomi, deputy commissioner Phek as chief guest. According to a press note, delegates from various districts and sub-units including the Nagaland Drivers and Body-Guard Prayer Fellowship team from Kohima also participated in the programme. Further ANGDA (CC) Kohima has congratulated ANGDA Phek unit for organizing the programme and also urged the members for more cooperation in the days to come. Meanwhile, has informed that the next sessional conference would be hosted by ANGDA Wokha unit.
Folk music extravaganza
DIMAPUR: As part of Doordarshan’s golden jubilee celebration, the Prasar Bharati, Broadcasting Corporation of India, Doordarshan Kendra Kohima would be organizing a folk music extravaganza “Vibrant Echoes” on May 8 at State Academy Hall Kohima at 5 pm. Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Kiyaneilie Peseyie and V. Sekhose, deputy director general, Doordarshan, North East Region would be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Book on Yimchungrü Christian Theology released
DIMAPUR: Yimchungrü Christian Theology: A theological exploration of myth, symbol and values, authored by S.J. Akhum, literature secretary, YBBA was released on May 2 at Shamator Town Baptist Church by Singson, ADC, Shamator. The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. R. Thsankiu, Pastor, while A. Akhang, executive secretary chaired the occasion.
KVK awareness campaign in Aboi
DIMAPUR: Aboi KVK, Mon organized awareness campaign program April 30 at KVK Aboi Office Complex. Dr. M.S. Sachan, subject matter specialist (SMS), genetics and plant breeding imparted training on seed production Technology and Kharif crops, while Dr. Paihem Mechui, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), Animal Science spoke on rapid production. Altogether 35 extension workers and in-service personnel attended the training program.
New R. D block office building at Changtongya
DIMAPUR: The newly constructed Rural Development Block Office building, Changtongya was inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary, RD & REPA, S. Pangnyu as chief guest on May 3. Speaking on the occasion Pangnyu said RD Block Changtongya was one of the oldest blocks, in Nagaland and called upon VDB Secretaries and Village Councils to implement the developmental schemes and fund properly. He also called for maintaining transparency and accountability and requested them to cooperate with the government for more developmental activities as land donors. MLA, Nuklutoshi, Chairman DPDB, NIDC Nagaland Hotel Limited and Assistant Engineer, Philips also spoke at the programme.
