GPS Rumesinyu upgraded to GMS

Government Primary School Rumesinyu established in 1958 was upgraded to Government Middle School 2010 which was inaugurated on Wednesday with Angau I. Thou Addl. Secretary School Education and Mission Director State Mission Authority (SMA) SSA Nagaland as a Chief Guest.
According to T. Rengma PA DMA (SSA) Kohima, the chief guest in her speech said quality education depended on collective responsible of teachers, students, parents and government department. She said with village as the head and department as the branches such partnership could bring out effective result for quality education to the children. She also requested teachers to give their best and community to see the performance of all round improvement of the students. She also said that India had approved 331 GPS to GMS during 2010-11 for Nagaland and under SSA three teachers each for all upgraded Schools but B. Ed and PSTE trained should be the criteria. In this regard she also urged Directorate for creation of more post as GPS was entitled of 5 teachers and GMS 8 teachers as per the norms.
With the up gradation to GMS the department would provide all compact infrastructure facility under SSA and with the innovative scheme like ‘Work Education ‘for middle section advice the teachers to teach folk song & dance and other vocational activities as to inculcate work culture upon the students as and when fund was released.Further computer aided learning will also be provided for students to keep pace with information technology amongst the students.
In his address District Education Officer -cum-District Project Co-ordinator (DMA) SSA Kohima, Zaveye Nyekha expressed gratitude to Chief Minister for approving the 9 GPS under Kohima upgraded to GMS Which was presented during the last DPDB held which included GMS Rumesinyu. He also stressed the community to make good use of the building and emphases that education required all the teacher/parents and students cooperation, while speaking he also shared that government. A short speech was given by Pollem Tep Deputy Director School Education. P.K.R union President Peter Himb expressed gratitude to government for upgradation of the school in such interior village under Tseminyu division for children to pursue higher study in their own door step and appealed the community to have sense of ownership.
Special songs were presented by Class 5 student GPS Rumesinyu ,Rumesinyu Women folk and college students.
