Four day training for Asha’s (absentees) on the 5th Asha Module of Wokha district started on May 4 and would continue till May 7 at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital. According to a press note, inaugural function was held at the hospital premises where Wepretso Mero, DC Wokha was the chief guest and chaired by Dr. W. N Ezung, deputy chief medical officer, Wokha.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed his happiness and concern for Medical department and urged the Asha’s to attend the training with sincerity and concentration and work with dedication in their respective villages.
He also distributed radios to the Ashas provided by NRHM. It may be mentioned that the main aim of distributing radios to the Ashas is to enhance their learning skills in order to mobilize the mothers and provide them with the necessary information and assistance relating to health.
Further, short speeches were delivered by Dr. Kevingulie Khro, MS District Hospital; L.T Tsanglao, MO PHC Wozhuro (Rt. Jt. Director H&FW); Johnny, state facilitator NRHM and Japuno, HR consultant NRHM.
