BSF arrests top HNLC cadre

Border Security Force has arrested a top militant of the banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council from Meghalaya’s Umsyiem village bordering Bangladesh.
‘Seargent Major’ Paniston Pakyntien alias Pudo fell into the hands of the BSF troopers after he illegally cross-over to india from Bangladesh on May 7, a BSF statement said.
Pudo, a hardcorde HNLC cadre is wanted by the Meghalaya police for his involvment in several crimes, including killing, kidnapping and looting in the state. He is also the main accused in the killing cases of Raja Khongsit, a coal exporter to Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the BSF has handed over the detained militant to Meghalaya police.
