Advocacy workshop on malaria

Urban Malaria Scheme (NVBDCP) Dimapur in partnership with Dimapur Municipal Council organized an advocacy workshop and free distribution of insecticide treated bed nets on May 7 at DMC office premises. Er. K. Keneilhoulie Keditsu, Chief Advisor, DMC was the chief guest on the occasion while Sedevikho Khro, ADC, Dimapur was the guest of honour. Dr. N. Simon Dzuvichu Asst. Director, Urban Malaria Scheme (NVBDCP) Dimapur chaired the programme.
Er. Vikholie Nienu, Advisor, DMC informed that on request from DMC, medical officers present have agreed to provide more than 80 insecticide treated bed nets to fourth grade staff of DMC. Nine wards were given 300 nos. each of bed nets. Before the distribution of the nets, Atu Longkumer, Entomologist demonstrated the impregnation of bed nets with insecticide.
Dr. Neiketou, State programme officer presented keynote address while Dr. Imchameren Jamir, DMO Dimapur presented a lecture on status of Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis and Dengue in Dimapur district.
