Curfew relaxed at Mao town

: With situation returning to normalcy, the curfew clamped in Mao town-- Manipur-Nagaland border was eventually relaxed on Sunday.
An official report received here said the Senapati district magistrate had lifted the curfew in Mao town on Sunday which was imposed on May 5 last.
However, prohibition of assembly of five or more people and carrying of deadly weapons was still in force.
The curfew was said to be relaxed only during the day whereas the same would be in force during the night.
The Senapati district administration had informed the bodies of the two youth killed on Thursday’s violence lying at the Mao Public Health Centre would be disposed, if respective families failed to claim the bodies within 24 hours.
The postmortem of the dead bodies were conducted Saturday.
Meanwhile, Manipur chief secretary, DS Poonia personally took stock of the prevailing situation at Mao gate along with GOC 57 Mountain Brigade, DS Hooda Sunday.
