Wokha DPDB meet focuses on hospitals, schools

The Wokha DPDB meeting was held on Monday in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall with chairman DPDB and parliamentary secretary for prison, home guards and fire and emergency services Engineer Wochumo Kithan presiding over the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Agriculture Dr. Chumben Murry.
According to an official bulletin, the meeting discussed on agendas including improvement of HSLC results, acquisition of land for construction of helipad and acquisition/purchase of Wokha town local football ground.
The Board agreed on the proposal submitted by the medical superintendent for infrastructural upgradation of Dr. Motsüo Memorial Hospital, Wokha and decided to pursue the matter with the responsible authority.
A committee on land acquisition was formed on learning that Hospital compound has been shrinking due to land encroachment headed by the chief medical officers.
The board also agreed to initiate the higher authorities for procuring the equipments at the earliest for the Regional Diagnostic Centre at Wokha.
On the matter of repair and renovation of the hospital roads Dr. Chumben Murry informed the house that the proposal was with the chief minister and the matter would be pursued vigorously. Grant-in-aid to Lamp School, Sungro and Bethel High School, Wokha were also approved by the Board.
Earlier, meritorious students from the district in the recent HSLC exam were felicitated by the Board and cash award were given to them.
