Assault on NH, FNR members flayed

Sumi Hoho: Sumi Hoho has condemned the assault on leaders of civil societies, Chuba Ozukum, G. Vashum and Nepuni at Kohima on May 9. The Hoho has appealed to the state government to conduct immediate inquiry and book the culprits as per law.
CII Nagaland Council: CII Nagaland Council (CIINC) has expressed shock over the physical assault of its member secretary, Chuba Ozukum along with G. Vashum and Nepuni Piku. CIINC chairman, T. Murry stated in a press release that such “evil and inhuman act of terrorism” should be dealt with seriously and with condemnation for the incident, it urged the authorities to “leave no stone unturned” to find culprits and book them as per law without delay. CIINC also expressed concern on the injuries inflicted on them and wished them early recovery.
MSUS: Mao Students’ Union, Shillong (MSUS) has condemned the assault on Naga Hoho leaders, P. Chuba Ozukum and G Vashum, and Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) member, Nepuni Piku at Kohima on May 9. Union held that no civilized society should tolerate such heinous crime committed against civil society members and urged the law enforcement agencies to book the unidentified miscreants and accord befitting punishment.
ANCSU: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has condemned the assault meted out on leaders of civil societies, Chuba Ozukum, G. Vashum and Nepuni at Kohima on May 9. Union has demanded the responsible investigating authorities to book the culprits at the earliest. Meanwhile, union has acknowledged various organizations, students and individuals for participating at the public protest at Old MLA Junction Kohima and showing their solidarity for a peaceful Nagaland.
AYO: Angami Youth Organization (AYO) expressed shock on hearing the assault meted out to Naga Hoho and FNR leaders on May 9. AYO while stating that apex body organization leaders work for the welfare of the people without any biasness, cautioned the public and business establishments to be on guard regarding the present situation as they were some unwanted elements trying to create problems taking advantage of the situation. AYO also reaffirmed to safeguard its citizens within its jurisdiction irrespective of tribe or community to maintain peaceful coexistence.
PPF: Pochury Public Forum (PPF) has condemned the assault on Naga hoho general secretary and joint secretary and member of Forum for Naga Reconciliation on May 9 in Kohima. Condemning for the physical assault meted to the Naga leaders who are tirelessly working for peace in the society, the forum also urged the authorities to book the culprits under the law.
ASUK: Ao Students Union Kohima (ASUK) has condemned the act of Manipur police forces in killing two Mao (Naga) students and wounding innocent public on May 6 at Mao Gate. Union has conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and also wished early recovery for the injured public. Meanwhile, ASUK also condemned the attack on Naga Hoho general secretary, Chuba Ozukum, Naga Hoho joint secretary, G. Vashum and Nepuni Peku (FNR) on May 9 by unidentified armed miscreants. ASUK urged the state law enforcement agency and authorities to investigate the matter earnestly and book the culprits in a befitting manner so as to present such further acts.
