Himalayan Region Baptist Pastors’ (HRBP) training was held at Clark Theological College from May 7 to 11. The five-day training program was imparted to 60 pastors including missionaries and leaders from the Churches in Bhutan, Sikkim, and West Bengal.
The Program was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Impalong Longkumer, Kohima and coordinated by Zulu Walling, NMM missionary at Dalsingpara. The resource persons were Dr. Mar Pongener, acting academic dean and dean of PG Studies, CTC who also was the program director, Rev. T. Supong, Dimapur, Dr. Pangernungba, lecturer, CTC, Arenla T. Longkumer, senior lecturer, CTC and Rev. Dr. Takatemjen, principal, CTC.
Lectures were delivered on subjects like leadership development, sacraments, Baptist way of administering the Church, essential elements of counseling.
There were also several practical sessions on worship. The training concluded with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and the awarding of certificates to all the participants.
The participants decided that the program should continue once in two years at CTC or in one of the states in years to come, with a view to up-building the Church in the Himalayan Region.
