We the undersigned would like to express the treatment and the status given to the LDA state wide and ask for upgrading of the grade pay. When we look at the hierarchy of the state government job system, LDA lies at the bottom. In slash and burn cultivation we know that the toughest part is the beginning, which involves clearing the jungles and making it suitable for sowing.
It is for this particular stage that a daily wage labourer charges the most. It is difficult to find workers for this stage. Likewise, we the LDA being assigned to do all the jobs parallel to ground clearance and spade work and other such preliminary work, we deserve a proportionate pay for our effort. When we look at the 6th ROP grade pay of LDA it is very evident that there is a huge discrepancy as compared to our counterparts.
Concerning qualification, a graduate degree and computer literate is the minimum qualification required for this job. This is the same required qualification for the other highly paid job though they have no different work load and they do not shoulder any risks.
Our words might not be persuasive but our grievances are real. If the concerned authorities look into this matter and raise the grade pay from 1900 to 2400 of the LDA we believe this will attract the best minds and it will be much easier for the higher ups to tackle future problems.
To work with enthusiasm and to be productive there needs to be proper motivation and purpose. Therefore we humbly pray that our plea from different corners of the state be addressed.
Imli LDA, Anok LDA, Ela LDA, Tuensang.
