Urban dept committed to assist ULB: Shürhozelie

Minister for urban development and higher education Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu said his department was committed to assist Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) for all round development in all possible ways and means.
Addressing advisory board members of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on May 12 at KMC conference hall, Dr. Liezietsü highlighted some of the state government’s policies under urban development for local bodies in the state and Kohima.
Assuring the members, the minister said many upcoming projects were in the pipeline for ULBs and asset created by urban development were to be handed over to municipalities in due course of time for maintenance and revenue generation.
He expressed confidence that the advisory board members, nominated from various backgrounds would impart cooperation for welfare of KMC in various aspects and bring chances in streamlining the function and structure of the Kohima Municipal Council and make Kohima a presentable city.
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary Urban development, Normen Putsüre.
Director Urban Development Ken Keditsu and Dr.Toshimanen, additional Director Urban Development (ULBs) briefed the members about the responsibilities, activities and the reforms related to the projects and development of the municipalities, particularly Kohima City on various aspects. Assistant Director, Urban Development Temjenrenla also presenteda power point presentation on neighborhood development committee (NDC), taken up in an around Kohima City.
