Dako Phom exhorts agri students

The 16th parting social for undergraduate and post graduate students was held at NU SASARD, Medziphema Friday. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, P Dako Phom, Parliamentary Secretary for Transport, Communications and Mechanical Engineering, urged the agri-students, to make use of the knowledge obtained from the university and put into practice in the field of agriculture which has become their profession.
Agriculture being the backbone of the country, where 80% of its population depends on the agriculture, the chief guest urged the outgoing students of NU SASARD to use their knowledge in achieving self sufficiency in food.
Dean of studies, NU SASARD, Prof. D.P Sharma, in his exhortation to the outgoing students urged them to develop an attitude which would help the society in solving problems inflecting the society today.
He said, knowledge alone does not suffice one to become a complete human being, however blend of right attitude will make one a complete human being in the society.
He also highlighted the goals set by the SASARD in imparting the latest knowledge in the field of agriculture to the students of SASARD. Earlier P. Dako Phom also released the souvenir, which was later presented to outgoing students.
He also donated Rs. 25,000 towards the SU SASARD. The parting social also witnessed various speeches by outgoing PG and UG students and special song presentation.
