SMS Niuland educational trip

DIMAPUR: On April 26 around 48 students of Class IV, V and VI along with eight teachers from Shepherd Montessori School Niuland went for an educational trip to Dimapur. The team visited Railway station, Dimapur Ao Baptist Church, Nagaland Science Centre, Raj Bari of Kachari kingdom and Green Park.

KU new office bearers

DIMAPUR: Konyak Union (KU) has elected a new team of office bearers for the present tenure with Khoiwang Konyak as president, L. Tongang Konyak as general secretary and other members. Further, the Konyak Union Executive Council and public has appreciated the previous team for their performance and activities towards the society and also urged the new team to dedicate more and work for all sections of the society.

JD (U) youth wing new joint secy

DIMAPUR: Janata Dal (United) youth wing appointed former active INC member N Ato as joint secretary of the party youth wing. Meanwhile, president JD (U) Tuensang Ariba expressed gratitude to state president JD (U) Mhonjan Lotha and his colleagues for appointing Z R George as the state JD (U) youth president.

Mesulumi approach road inaugurated

DIMAPUR: The VDB village council Mesulumi approach road was inaugurated by commissioner and secretary RD V. Sakhrie on Monday at GMS, Mesulumi.
Speaking at the inaugural function the chief guest congratulated the village for the completion of the approach road and urged them to take up more projects for the overall development of the village. He also stressed on dedication, honesty, determination and accountability for economic and social upliftment. He reminded the villagers that the first duty of the people was loyalty to elders and leaders. The approach road from NH 150 to GMS, Mesulimi was constructed under NREGA during 2009-10.

Farmers training
on oilseeds

DIMAPUR: District Agriculture Office, Mokokchung conducted a one day Farmers Training on Oilseeds and Bio-Diesel (NOVOD) development programme on Monday. The topic covered during the training session included package and practices on cultivation of Soyabean and groundnut by Lipokonen, A.O.II and package and practices on cultivation of Jatropha and Tung by Alemyanger, A.O. II. The training was attended by around 80 progressive farmers under Mokokchung district. The Department also distributed free seeds to the farmers.
