WTC on display of ‘no smoking’ sign board

Wokha Town Council (WTC) has directed all departments, financial establishment, restaurants, libraries, public offices/conveyances, hospital buildings, health Institutes, hotels, educational institutions, open auditorium, bus stop, bakeries, coffee house and all prominent business establishment within Wokha town council jurisdiction to display a signboard of “NO SMOKING AREA-SMOKING HERE IS AN OFFENCE” measuring 16/10 inches for indoor and 6/3ft for outdoor, “THIS IS A PUBLIC PLACE SMOKING HERE IS AN OFFENCE” respectively, for public awareness.
The order has also prohibited sale of tobacco products to minors and near all the educational institutions/schools and colleges. Action will be initiated as per the Provisions of COTPA. 2003 (Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act-2003) WTC informed that campaign has been carried out on account of National Tabacco Control Programme and World No Smoking Day scheduled on May 31.
