Mokokchung district which has been blessed with abundant production of seasonal tomato, chilly, passion fruit, orange etc., however, lack of proper storage and processing facilities often results in wastage and spoilage of most of these perishable items. Therefore, to facilitate value addition and income generation, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mokokchung organized a three day entrepreneurial training on ‘processing of fruits and livestock products’ from May 6 to 8 at KVK, in line with the state govt. declaring 2010 as year of entrepreneur.
The programme focused on practical oriented in preparation of jam, pickle, squash, sauce, juice and processing of meat and milk products. Nochetla (R.A SARS), Moainla (programme assistant - horticulture) and Dr. Rongsen (SMS) KVK Mokokchung were the resource persons. Altogether 20 trainees from 5 villages attended the programme.
The training was conducted among the selected entrepreneur of the district through participatory mode. As requested by the trainees the organizer distributed preservatives on the concluding day.
