Plebiscite Day message

On the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the Naga National Plebiscite Day of May 16, 1951, NNC president Dr. Senka Yaden has called for reaffirming the foundation principle of the Naga national right for sovereignty and independence. In his message, Dr Senka said that observing the plebiscite day was not just a celebration but a day of remembrance and reckoning. He said the historic document represented the united commitment of the Naga people and its mandate in support of sovereign independent nation. “There is no greater human psycho-social desire than freedom. We observe this day - the Naga National Plebiscite Day to commemorate the declaration and the demonstration of the will of the Naga People for Freedom,” Dr. Senka said. He urged for observing the day with sober reflections of the Naga history of struggle and give thanks for the ancestral blessings of freedom and liberty.
