United Public Organization (UPO), Shipongrü village under Tuensang district, organized a sensitization program under the theme ‘awake and preserve rights and privileges’ on May 7 at Longliak Resort.
The resource person, Y. Tokiu Kecham president NPYC encouraged the public to strive forward in oneness for better livelihood. He called upon the public to co-operate with its office bearers and among themselves, especially when they are engaged in such activities. He said such movement should not be organized with an adverse implication, but is should be done with a positive of mind and vision. The resource person spoke on how to utilize the Right to Information Act.
On the occasion, Y. Tokiu Kecham donated and distributed some cash and materials to the poorest section of the people and also donated rupees 1,50,000 towards organization.
Later, UPO also distributed some cash to the poor and disability people who could not attend the program with its office fund.
UPO also lauded Y. Tokiu Kecham, president NPYC for concern for the general public and UPO and to R. Tohanba, parliamentary secretary IPR, eco and statistics, Kohima to the organization.
