YAA, YSUK, YUK ENSUK condemn assault

The Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA), Yimchungrü Students’ Union Kohima (YSUK), Yimchungrü Union Kohima (YUK) and Eastern Naga Students’ Union Kohima (ENSUK) have strongly condemned the physical assault on T. Akum Yimchunger, LDA of NPSC Department by his colleague Lanuyapang, UDA on May 14.
The YAA in a condemnation note issued by Z. Throngshe Yim, general secretary has termed the act as direct insult and humiliation to the people of backward communities of Eastern Nagas and also said it a sign of disrespect to the Public Service Commission which is the highest recruiting department of government officers in the state.
The YSUK in a condemnation note issued by M. Shophu, president said it is a disgrace to learn that the staff of recruiting department behave in such savage manner with their junior staff and further questioned that on what ground the Eastern Naga people are treated in such way when they are struggling to cope with the rest of other fellow Nagas.
Further, YUK in a condemnation note issued by Yinkiu Yimchunger, president said it is really sad that a lone employee from the tribe is targeted and insulted which is beyond tolerance and ENSUK in a condemnation note issued by L. Likhase Sangtam, president has requested the responsible authority to take stern disciplinary action against Lanuyapang for the act committed by him.
Meanwhile the organizations have demanded for immediate termination of the accused from service and also to law enforcing authority not to grant him bail but rather award befitting punishment as per the relevant section of law without any delay.
