NMA: Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has condemned the brutal and senseless rape and murder of Shikna of Wanching village under Mon District on May 2 by three illegal immigrants. The NMA stating the incident as “ruthless and heinous” appealed to all sections of society to condemn such acts and urged the authority responsible not to release the criminals under any circumstances and to award stringent punishment.NMA also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
ASTD: Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has condemned the “belligerent and blatant action” of certain “unscrupulous individuals” against the leaders of various organizations on May 9 at hotel Grandeur, Kohima. In a condemnation note issued by I. Temjen Jamir, president and N. Joseph Lemtur, general secretary ASTD said victimizing the leaders would not bring any glory or gain for the Nagas, especially at this juncture when all Naga people were working towards peace.
The ASTD said it would never compromise with such act of violence towards those working tirelessly for the welfare of the society and Nagas and appealed the responsible authorities to book the perpetrators at the earliest and to award befitting punishment.
LLRPO: Lotha Lower Range Public Organization (LLRPO) has condemned the action of the Manipur government for banning Th Muviah Ato Kilonser NSCN (IM) from visiting his native village. LLRPO also condemned O. Ibobi Singh chief minister of Manipur for his autocratic act against the Nagas’ in Manipur, that led to the killing of two Naga youth Daikho Loshu and Neli Chakho and injuring injuring many Naga brothers and sisters at Mao Gate. LLRPO while sharing solidarity with the Nagas appealed all Nagas to stand together and also condemned the barbaric action of the Manipur government and further prayed for the victims and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families. The union also condemned the physical assault on Nagas hoho general secretary Chuba Ozukhum, joint secretary G. Vashum and FNR member Nepuni Phiku at Kohima by unidentified armed miscreants.
