Zunheboto district LDA’s have expressed resentment over the 6th ROP stating that it has down-graded them by grouping them at Grade-IV level.
A joint press statement issued by RD Block Suruhuto LDA, Y. Inavi Chophy, EE (Elect) Zunheboto LDA, Phutoi Kiho and Soil & Water Conservation Zunheboto LDA, Mughato Achumi said that ‘antipathy’ attitude of ROP fixation committee of 5th ROP 1999 and 6th ROP 2010 came as a ‘surprise’ and pointed out that till 1999, Grade-I DBs, Havildar (police) and district LDAs were in the same grade however, the 5th ROP 1999 has down-graded LDAs below DBs, Havildars and Sectional Assistants.
They asserted that the announcement of 6th ROP 2010 was welcomed by government servants of Nagaland but district LDAs have been constrained to express resentment over it as they were being affected once again and clarified that all LDAs were PU Passed if not graduates whereas until recently DBs, Havildars and Sectional Assistants were under-matriculate.
They questioned the ROP fixation committee as to why educated and qualified district LDAs have been relegated below the lower qualified and added that the matter required proper re-evaluation and rectification.
It also mentioned that LDAs were the ‘mainstay’ in each district office as they were ‘always heavily burdened’ while they were also required to take additional burden of assignments in the absence of HAs and UDAs, and further appealed to 6th ROP fixation committee members to carefully examine the matter and do the needful.
