Taking exception to Nagaland University PRO’s refutation to its earlier statement, the Nagaland government registered class-I contractors’ union (NGRC-ICU) has warned Nagaland university registrar and PRO not to twist the NIT (notice inviting tender) and not to issue statement without considering the fact. The NGRC- 1 CU, which had charged NU registrar of violating norms in awarding contract works, Friday reaffirmed to initiate appropriate action against NU registrar. According to a joint statement issued today by NGRC-ICU president K. C. Angami, general secretary Pukhato Shohe and advocate, legal adviser Kezhokhoto Savi, the NIT dated January 28, 2010 stated that tenders would be received (to be to dropped in the tender box) up to 4 p.m. on February 10, 2010 and would be opened February 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Stating that as per the notification several contractors/bidders including its joint secretary had gone to attend the same, the signatories said, however, the university staff informed that tender cannot be opened on February 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm as registrar was out of station. On further enquiry the university authority could not give any information, the union officials said, and added that even after that there was follow-up inquiry on when the tender would be opened, but in all those occasions, the university could not give any decision, except that it was yet to be finalized. “...and while anxiously waiting for the time and date of opening the tender, the union was taken to a big surprise that the tender had already opened without calling them,” they said.
