SHGs trained on maintenance of accounts, records

The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Dimapur conducted one day capacity building training on maintenance of accounts and records of SHGs under SGSY for Dimapur district on April 22 at IMC hall, Dimapur. The objectives of the training was to enhance the capacity of the SHGs especially the group leaders, secretaries in maintaining uniform standard accounting system of SHGs.
Altogether, 350 SHGs group leaders and group secretaries mostly of women SHGs from Medziphema, Dhansiripar, Niuland and Kuhoboto blocks attended the training.
According to a press note, areas of accounting system imparted to the SHgs members were maintenance and posting of cash book, saving ledgers, loan ledgers, individual pass book, maintenance of meeting minutes register, by laws, resolutions, files and correspondence and others and also practical session for posting in cash book and ledgers were conducted.
Further cash book, saving and loan ledgers and individual members pass book were distributed to the SHGs.
Meanwhile, the training was chaired by Toshimongla, DPO (SGSY); Hilo Semp, project director DRDA Dimapur highlighted the objectives of the training and Dr. Sudhir Sharma, consultant from Guwahati was the resource person.
