The LDA and UDA staff of district administration, Wokha have appealed to the members of ‘Fitment Committee’ and ‘Pay anomalies Committee’ to upgrade the existing pay scale and grade pay of LDAs and UDAs to that of rupees 4500-125-7000 per month and rupees 5000-150-8000 per month respectively.
Drawing the attention of the state government, Phyobemo, UDA and Vanthungo Lotha, LDA on behalf of LDA and UDA staff of deputy commissioner office Wokha in a joint press statement said, the district administration department being the public office and parent department of all the departmental offices within the district normally functions like any other important government office in the state strictly adhering orders and notifications except on government declared holidays and also often render overtime works due to heavy workloads. Adding to this said it is not fair at all on the part of the state government treating them with the same yardstick as applied to the ministerial employees of other department with regard to pay and other allowances, who have either less assignment or no assignment at all.
Further lamented that due to lack of higher up promotional opportunities particularly in the district administration department, the LDAs serving for a stint of 18 to 20 years could hardly reach to the post of UDA and hereby the existing scale of pay and grade pay is not at all proportionate to the amount of service being rendered.
In regard to educational qualification for district LDAs, mentioned that almost every LDA and UDA staff of district administration are graduate and above with proficiency in basic computer application, except in some particular district who were appointed as per government laid down rules on reservation quota.
While acknowledging the state government decisions to implement the 6th RoP to its employees, the LDA and UDA staff of district administration Wokha has also uttered hope that their dedicated service to the district administration in particular and state government in general would be taken into confidence and do the needful as appealed.
