4 Adivasi girls rescued

Assam police, with the assistance from Delhi police and some NGOs, has managed to rescue four young girls belonging to Adivasi community from Delhi few days back, sources said. According to sources, the girls were taken to national capital by certain confidence trickster on the pretext of providing lucrative jobs in New Delhi. However, on reaching Delhi, the girls, all from Karbi Anglong, were forced into doing things that was against their will. But, fortunately, Delhi police with assistance from some NGOs managed to track them and liberate them. The victims, who were handed over to Assam police, were brought to Diphu civil hospital for medical examination by Bokajan police Saturday. A case has been registered in connection with this and intensive inquiry on. The police are investigating to get more aspects of racket and to obtain inputs of those persons involved in controlling interstate sex racket from Assam. According to sources, one Durga Derai of Naokata village, Bokajan had made a formal case against one Gopal Munda of same village on April 14 last, charging him of enticing four girls to leave their native place on evening of April 6. After registering a case against Gopal Munda under section 53/10 U/S 365, IPC, Bokajan police, following some initial search operations, arrived at New Delhi with the hope to save four girls from the clutches of Gopal Munda. After hectic exercise, Bokajan police managed to locate Gopal Munda on April 17 last. Immediately police also took into custody the four girls from different locations of Delhi like Sukurpur under Swarasati Bihar locality, Greater Kailash, Kutub Minar Chowk, Gurgaon etc. Four girls were offered jobs in a lesser known organization, Gita Placement, to cover up their actual identity and nature of work, sources added.
