Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec School, (LFHSS) Dimapur organised an interactive programme for students of higher classes. Rev Fr. Joe Mariadhas, Director, Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chumukedima animated the sessions.
Stressing on the impact and influence of ‘pan masala’ and other substances among student community, the resource person informed the students about facts and figures of nicotine use among youth and the need to curb the menace from the student community. Personality development, life skill education, promoting talents and enabling youth to face challenges of the present age as means to protect and prevent one self from falling into the addiction was also deliberated.
Resource persons said in order to free oneself from the addictive structure one needed to develop skills that could battle the epidemic.
Administrator Arthur Edwards thanked the resource person and students for their participation. The students pledged to keep away from nicotine substances and to stop consuming it.
