YTC reaffirms its resolution

Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC) has reaffirmed its resolution to ban the two organisations/ region within Yimchunger jurisdiction except Yimchunger region. Yimchunger Tribal Council said as per resolution no 9, 2009 which was resolved at Shamator Town on February 2009, it would not tolerate those who were trying to ignore the resolution and will start non cooperation movement to the particular organisation.
The council resolved this during its 59th general session held at Pungro Town from April 19 to 21. According to Chairman Executive Council YTC, Yanba Showuba and Executive Secretary YTC, A.M. Hopung, Yimchunger Tribal Council had banned the cutting of ‘Fanta’ under Yimchunger jurisdiction with effect from April 22 and further warned that defaulters woud imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 to vehicle owner, Rs. 5,000 to driver and Rs. 5,000 to wood cutters and also ‘Fanta’ will be seized. YTC also resolved to reserve the forest and ban hunting.
During the session, YTC also reaffirmed to ban burning the forest, and warned to impose a fine of Rs. 25,000 to defaulters. YTC has also supported the on going peace process of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation and peace talk from Naga political groups to government of India.
