Agri dept provides relief materials to fire victims

The agriculture department Nagaland visited the fire victims of K. Wongthu village which was reduced to ashes on March 5 last while burning jhum field.
While visiting at the site, department under NWDPRA project distributed Kholar seeds to the fire victims of K. Wongthu village on Thursday in presence of the I. Panger, Joint Director Agriculture Nagaland, Temjen DAO and Imkong SDAO Shamator.
I. Panger, Joint Director Agriculture Nagaland, while encouraging the villagers said the incident was a ‘natural calamity’ and asked the people to prevent such kind of unwanted incident in the near future. He also assured the people on relief from the department and at the same time asked the people to cooperate for more development to take place in the area. Meanwhile, villagers lauded the department for visiting and distribution the seeds of Kholar also sharing the words of sorrow towards the victims while the people were in trouble.
It may be mentioned here that, 27 houses including church office were totally gutted in the inferno which broke out while burning jhum field.
Four projects including, Cardamom, passion, tree plantation and bamboo projects were also reportedly destroyed in the fire incident.
