The annual conference of Satoi range GBs’ federation was at held Satoi town on April 29 on the theme “to re-strengthen the range”. The day long programme was graced by S.E. R&B, Kohima Er. H. Kahuto Sumi, as the chief guest and chairman, Ad-hoc Town Council, East Dimapur Z. Vihoshe Awomi, as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest reminded the GBs that as royal head of the village, they must shoulder greater role to play for the well being of villagers.
Dwelling on the responsibilities of the church and its leaders, he pointed out that Church and its leaders should be righteous in its approach in showing good ways of life to the people.
Also stressing on economic well being of the villagers, he said most of the villagers depended on agriculture but was of the view that if the villagers could do better if they put in more effort in development of agri farming instead of depending on others such as their elected representative. He also asked the GBs and elders of Satoi Range to preserve their cultural identity.
The guest of honour also spoke on the occasion and encouraged the GBs to be good leaders. Former president NSF and convener, Vigilance Committee V. Phushika Aomi, SRSU presented a report on finding of the committee.
The committee also highlighted irregular supply of subsidized items under food and civil supply, non-functional of public health centre, Satoi, non-stationary of EAC at its headquarter and irregulars of teachers and failure of VECs to check proxy teachers and other shortcomings.
Awareness on various schemes under RD was also made known to the participants. The function was chaired by P. Kughai Aye, president, SRGBF and was recorded by K. Vikugha Rotokha, secretary, SRGBF. Cultural presentation was other highlights of the day.
