Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) has expressed disappointment over the negligence of headmasters of some Government High Schools (GHS) within Tseminyu division who turned down the appeal of students organization to have a consultative meeting for better coordination and find remedial measure for the improvement of education system. In a press communiqué Kenneth Kath, president and Solozu Kent, general secretary RSU said, the absentee headmasters from the particular schools have been producing nil results in the HSLC examinations and out of 80 students from GHS within Tseminyu subdivision only 29 students qualified in the recently conducted HSLC examination which is below the qualified pass percentage of government schools in Nagaland.
The union has further asked the responsible absentee headmasters of GHS to clarify their reason of turning down the request of students’ organization.
Meanwhile, the union has cautioned all the government officials and employees of Tseminyu subdivision that it would not remain a silent spectator as all the government officers and employees have become a ‘ghost employee’ who attends office once in a month. Lamenting that Tseminyu subdivision being one of the oldest and most neglected area all over the state having less government facilities, RSU said it would blame the controlling officers from different departments for their ignorance and negligence towards the Rengma public in particular and shall not hesitate to publish the name of the department and the ‘pathetic’ administrative system of the government offices in near future.
