‘Missing girls’ return

In a timely intervention by the police, three class ten students of Shepherd School, Dubogaon (Padumpukhri) who were reported missing on May 18 last were picked up from Nagaland House, Kolkatta on May 24.
Informing about the case, OC Women Cell, Bem disclosed that an FIR was received on May 18 from one of the parents stating that their adopted daughter along with two of her friends had not returned home after school.
Later, around the same evening, one of the girls called up her relatives informing that they were staying in Hotel Titan, Guwahati. It was learnt that the girls had run away with their admission fees and to reach Bangalore. Immediately, Addl SP Dimapur was informed, who contacted his counter part in Guwahati. However, by the time, the Assam police team reached the hotel, the girls had already left.
The girls later meet a Naga and asked him to book their tickets from Guwahati till Bangalore. However, halfway at Howrah, they came down where they met an army personnel who later with the help of his friend took them to Nagaland House, Kolkatta.
Finally, on May 24 morning, when they again asked some Naga woman to book their tickets, the Special Branch of Nagaland Police posted there was immediately informed who later detained them till the Women cell personnel reached there.
Meanwhile, police added that the girls were later handed over to their parents after completing necessary formalities.
