The CCC which has been implementing NACO-funded Targeted Intervention Project for (IDUs) through Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) for the past ten years, urged upon every individuals to come forward and join the organization to arrest spread of HIV and AIDS.
CCC is running a Rehabilitation centre for addicts and alcoholics, which is entirely Self-sponsored besides it has initiated Harm Reduction Strategy with special emphasis on professionalism and quality services.
CCC news letter covering the period between April, 2009-March, 2010 revealed that Drop in Centre of CCC which provided services particularly to injecting drug users to prevent themselves from HIV and AIDs showed high turnover.
The result was due to home based strategy initiated by DIC team. The Home Based Strategy was initially confronted by hostile reaction in the field forcing DIC team to evolve an action plan to counter the problem. The action plan adopted by DIC team resulted in establishing a strong rapport with key populations, parents and spouses and also bringing them under the realm of Harm reduction.
CCC, Mokokchung led by its Director Bendangwati Aier also engaged in conducting workshops, seminars and organizing retreat for recovering addicts and creating awareness on HIV and AIDS during the period.
