Empowering youth against child labour, Child helpline by June 12

A campaign against child labour by involving nearly 1000 youth volunteers has been initiated by Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) and sponsored by Department of Labor.
As part of the campaign, T- Shirts for the volunteers who have pledged to stop child labour was released by Joint Labour Commissioner Er. Nungshiyanger Aier (HoD) on Saturday. Giving a brief report on the campaign Project Officer Yanger Aier informed that allocation has been made to Dimapur by the centre as part of the National Child Labour Project (NCLP).
He also added that a total of 17 NGOs were running 20 schools in Dimapur underNational Child Labor Project.
Project Director, Community Educational Centre Society Subo Longkumer informed that a total of nearly 800 forms have been distributed till date to various schools and colleges to muster up at least 1000 volunteers for the campaign.
While at the same time he also disclosed that a child helpline will be introduced by June 12.
Others who were present at the programme included Deputy Labour Commissioner H Zeliang, Project Director of National Child Labour Project Lhangti Konyak representatives from various NGOs and institution.
