Litem Union Tuensang Town grateful
DIMAPUR: Litem Union Tuensang Town (LUTT) has expressed gratitude to Dr. J.T Walling, Woodland Nursing Home Mokokchung, for instituting an Emergency Obstetric Care Project (EMOC) at Litem village.
The project was undertaken in memory of Late Temjenzulu and Late Mapuinla Sungratsu.
Stating that the project was the first of its kind in the district and the village being the beneficiary, the union also thanked Dr. Walling for providing an amount of Rs. 1 lakh with assurance to help and guide the beneficiaries.
New WAPO office bearers
DIMAPUR: The Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) in a general meeting held on May 29 at Zubza (Secü) elected a new team of office bearers for WAPO office for the tenure 2010- 2013. The new team would be led by president, Vikehielie Victor, vice president, Satuo Secü, general secretary, Zhaba Suokhrie, joint secretary, Nourhevituo Rhalie, finance secretary, Neiyiezetuo Hasielie, treasurer, Seyieneizo Mor, cultural secretary, Lhousievikho Neiphi, publicity secretary, Vichasielie Doze.
Language dev franchise in Wokha
DIMAPUR: With a view to reach out to as many people in the state and North East desirous of taking up training at Dimensions – School of Phonetics & Spoken English, Dimensions will begin its operations at Wokha from July 12.
The centre will be run as a franchise of Dimensions – School of Phonetics & Spoken English and operated by Lolanbeni Murry a young entrepreneur and former student of Dimensions. The centre would have two trainers and would provide certification and job assistance. The second centre to be established at Purana Bazar will also start operations from July.
Meanwhile, Dimensions would be setting up centers in all district headquarters in the state by the year 2013.

DIMAPUR: Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima has invited nominations from interested individuals to the executive posts of Gorkha Sahitya Kala Sanstha (Gorkha Cultural Society) for the session 2010-13. Interested individuals may submit their nominations detailing their names, adresses, contact details etc., either to the President or General Secretary, Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima, on or before June 10.
41 A/C Tizit Area Mahila meet
DIMAPUR: The 41 A/C Tizit Area Mahila Congress Committee held its meeting on May 16 attended by all executive members of AMCC /VMCC and re-constituted its office bearer for the another period of five years.
The house unanimously selected T. Yinglih Konyak as President and Ya-aim Konyak as general secretary.
The meeting also resolved to create more posts of office and selected A. Monghai of Tizit Town and Ngamjat Konyak of Tizit village as members of DMCC, Mon representing AMCC of Tizit.
The house also decided to submit their passport size photograph along with membership fee as well as Identity card charge without delay for onward submission to higher authorities.
Stolen bike recovered
Dimapur, May 30 (NPN): Personnel of East police station on Sunday recovered a bike (Bajaj Platina) which was stolen from civil hospital premises on May 25 and arrested one person in this connection.
According to police sources, the bike was recovered on Sunday around 5.50 pm from Purana Bazaar area and the accused has been identified as one Prem Singh of Thoubal district currently residing at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur.
The bike belonging to one person who was attending a patient, was stolen from civil hospital, Dimapur premises on May 25. The recovered bike was handed over to the owner on Sunday, police added. (Staff Reporter)

This was informed in a press note issued by secretary (administration) PIL Zerüsie.
W’shop for 2nd year B.Ed under IGNOU
DIMAPUR: Workshop-2 for 2nd year B.Ed. under IGNOU would be held from June 20 to 30 at 11am at Programme Study Centre-2020P, Salt Christian College of Teacher Education, Dimapur. All 2nd year B.Ed trainees enrolled to the centre have been requested to attend the workshop.
KSU co-ordination meet on education reformation 2015
Dimapur: Basing on the Resolution ‘Education Reformation Vision 2015’ the Konyak Students’ Union organized a co-ordination meeting at Tizit and Tobu on May 24 and 26 respectively.
The co-ordinators of the event were Village education committees & training of traineers of all the villages under EBRC Tizit and Tobu.
The meeting discussed important issues pertaining to the implementation of alternative and innovative schooling.
