Naga People’s Front (NPF) 29th Jangpetkong A/C has questioned a joint meeting convened for student bodies of Chankikong, Japukong and Tsürangkong, and Mangkolemba Division Development Joint Forum (MDDJF) at Mangkolemba on May 31 to discuss “DIS issue”.
NPF 29th Jangpetkong A/C, in an open letter to citizens (Sensos) of Chankikong, Japukong and Tsürangkong ranges, through its president Tongpangnochet criticized CKM for “playing politics” by favoring a particular officer and further questioned the student bodies on taking interest in the transfer and posting of an officer, forgetting about the welfare of their registered members, the letter added. The party also denied knowledge of the existence of MDDJF and questioned its objectives, whether it was recognized and approved by citizens’ forums and village councils of the three ranges including the citizens of Mangkolemba town.
Meanwhile, pointing out that expenses spent on the issue must have crossed several lakhs as CKM has been pursuing the issue for over a year, the party also questioned the source of finance. It said if expenditures were being met by the officers in question, he/she would be liable for disciplinary action from the government. However, if the expenditures were met from MDDJF or students’ funds, the party stated that the source of income and expenditures should clearly be included in the next annual audit report.
