Celebrating 175th year of Assam Rifles “Friends Of The Hill People”, the 16 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) executed DGAR MCA projects, presenting computer sets along with peripherals and TV/DTH etc to boys’ hostel, ex servicemen association of Kohima, and the graduate indigenous society of Nagaland.
According to a defence release, Comdt 16 AR gifted computers along with other accessories and TV/DTH to the boys’ hostel in Kohima.
In a message Brig Ved Prakash, Cdr HQ 5 Sector AR stated “Computers have been installed to ensure that the student community gets adequate exposure at an early age. Providing computers, television and the DTH facility to the hostel will assist students in honing their computer skills and increasing their knowledge base”.
The unit also developed a cordial relationship with the ex-servicemen association comprising 52 ex-servicemen and 30 widows.
Taking this relationship forward, 16 AR gifted computers and peripherals along with TV/DTH to ex servicemen association that would help them in office modernization and gaining knowledge/entertainment through the IT media.
In yet another presentation, 16 AR also presented computer sets along with associated peripherals to graduate indigenous society at Jail colony of Kohima.
The officials of Boys Hostel, Ex Servicemen Association and office bearer of graduate indigenous society has thanked Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM, VSM, IGAR (N) and Brig Ved Prakash, Cdr HQ 5 Sector AR in providing these MCA projects for the benefit of people of Kohima town.
