1st phase of census operation kicks off

MOKOKCHUNG: The first phase of census of India 2011 commenced Tuesday at Mokokchung town with house listing and housing census’ and NPR household schedule exercise which stated with private residence of Padmashree Chubalemla Ao, official residence of Lithrongla G. Chishi Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung.
TUENSANG: DC and principal census officer Tuensang, Y.L. Jami, on Tuesday called upon enumerators, supervisors and charge officer of Tuensang district to perform their assigned duties in a very accurate manner so that census operation 2011 would get a positive response. Speaking at the launching programme of census operation 2011 for Tuensang district, which began on Tuesday at his official residence, Y.L. Jami said that, Census was to justify for ones rights and for future generation by giving correct information and accurate figures of population. DC further called upon all people to assist census officials in carrying out the census 2011 by giving correct and factual figures population.
The launching programme for census operation of Tuensang district was chaired by Thsuvisie Phoji, SDO (C) & Sub- Divisional Census officer Tuensang, while enlightenment was addressed by H.P. Gupta, graduate teacher & master trainer Tuensang and Athsise, census nodal officer Tuensang. A word of prayer was pronounced by Lanu youth director Tuensang Town Baptist Church.
PADUMPUKHURI VILLAGE: Padumpukhuri village council members and GBs accompanied the enumerators and supervisor in House listing & Housing census for 1st phase of census 2011 on Tuesday. The members along with eight enumerators and a supervisor kick off the census by first visiting parliamentary secretary for sports and youth resources, land revenue, Naiba Konyak’s residence, house number 202 in block 3 followed by Z. Obed, ex-minister residence in block 2.
Later the members and officials visited the houses in block wise. The village council members disclosed that there are more than 1500 household divided under 5 blocks and that they would give their level best in carrying out their duties accordingly at a scheduled time and as directed by the higher authority.
Meanwhile, the Padumpukhuri village council chairman, its secretary and GBs of the village have sought the support and co-operation of the public in assisting the enumerators and officials to bring out correct data in census conduct and for its success.

PEREN: Peren District along with the rest of the state kick started the house listing and housing census and NPR on Tuesday morning by enumerating DC, Peren Khrienuo C. Metha’s official residence in presence of census officials from directorate of census, Kohima, Pichano Kikon S.I. III and Lucy Tep, Proof Reader.
MON: A team of census officials led by Sarah Ritse, ADC & charge officer accompanied by additional charge officer cum master trainer Alongse Sangtam, Enumerator Bendangrenla, and Supervisor Wangto started House listing and Housing census for preparation of National Population Register (NPR) in Mon beginning with residence of Deputy Commissioner, Mon Dinesh Kumar IAS on June 1.
According to census officers canvassing for house listing, housing census schedule and household for NPR will be completed between June 1 and 15 while canvassing of household schedule for population enumeration will begin from February 9 to 28, 2011. Revisional round and reference date for census 2011 would be done from March 1 to 5 and March 1respectively.
ZUNHEBOTO: House listing and housing census of the census 2011 and canvassing of NPR was launched on June 1 at the residence of DC Zunheboto, T. Kiheto Zhimo.
The DC while addressing the gathering briefed on various aspects of the Census 2011 and asked them to ensure proper enumeration and data collection in their respective jurisdiction and also called upon the people to assist enumerators and supervisors of their areas.
The enumeration started in presence of town charge office and officials from directorate of census operation Nagaland, Kohima.
Meanwhile, DC Zunheboto, T. Kiheto on Revision of Electoral 2010-11, informed that draft publication of Summary Revision of Electoral Role 2011 would start from June 2 and period for filing claims and objection from 2nd June to 17.
