Owing to the failure of assurance made by President Driver Union Tuensang District to pay Rs. 2.55 Lakh as medical aid to injured passengers of Super Travel bus (NL-03- B-0073) that met with accident on March 1, United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC) has reaffirmed its stand to hold first phase of agitation by stopping Super Travel services from June 4 to be followed by second phase of agitation by stopping all night service (Private) from June 6.
USSC alleged that President Driver Union Tuensang District assured to pay medical expenses but so far only Rs. 50,000 was paid.
Super Travel (NL-03- B-0073) plying between Tuensang to Dimapur met with an accident where 32 passengers from Longkhim town were injured. However, the issue was settled amicably with the owner of the super travels with an intervention of President Driver Union Tuensang District to pay Rs. 2.55 Lakh as medical aid to the injured passengers.
USSC informed that it will be compelled to carry out third phase and would stop all private transportation or total bandh of USSC.
