Drug peddlers arrested
DIMAPUR, Jun4(NPN): In a joint operation carried out by Bokajan police and 155 Bn CRPF, three persons identified as Bhagwati kar (37), Madhu Kar (60) and Avikhe Sema (32) were arrested from Betmahal, Bokajan for peddling banned drugs. A total of 135 SP and 10 Nitro tablets were recovered from their possession.
DCC anti corruption cell meeting

DIMAPUR: All head of government and private schools, VECs and ToTs in charge of IED under Dimapur district have been informed to submit the details of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) before June 25 to DMA SSA Dimapur. Categories under CWSN include totally blind, low vision, hearing impaired, speech impaired, locomotor, mental retardation, mental illness, cerebral palsy, multiple disability, autism and learning disability. Basic civil defence training in Dmu
DIMAPUR: Camp- training on basic civil defence (Disaster Management) will be conducted at the Central Training Institute, Civil Defence & Guards, Dimapur from June 14 to 18. Deputy Controller of Civil Defence & District Commandant Home Guards, K. Pienyu has requested all chairmen of Ward Panchayats to send one person each from every ward of Kohima town to attend the training.
Appeal to DIS Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Village Education Committee (VEC), Zuvukhu viewing the poor condition of Government Primary School (GPS), Zuvukhu has appealed to District Inspector of School (DIS) Dimapur to ensure necessary steps for quality education in GPS, Zuvukhu under Dimapur district. In a press communiqué chairman VEC Zuvukhu K. James Achumi, said GPS Zuvukhu had been facing a lot of problem in providing quality education as the school was run by a single teacher even though government sanctioned two posts to the school. Further, it stead that teacher Suliho Sumi had submitted joining report on May 7 but was yet to appear before the students.

CEO, WTC direct beef butchers
DIMAPUR: Chief executive officer, Wokha Town Council, Athel O Lotha along with some advisory board members conducted a meeting on May 28 to discuss issues on prevailing prices of various items including the price hike of beef. According to chief executive officer, Wokha Town Council, Athel O Lotha, the beef price has been fixed at Rs.85 per kg and also directed the butchers to sell the meat at the fixed price with came in to effect from May 29.

DIMAPUR: In connection with state government’s declaration of year 2010 as ‘Year of Plantation’, a mass social work and plantation of trees would be carried out in Mokokchung town on June 5 from 6 a.m. onwards coinciding with observance of World Environment Day.
