KLEE visits parents of Loshuo and Chakho
DIMAPUR: Officials of Kohima Lotha Eloe Ekhung (KLEE) led by its vice president Thungbeni Kikon, visited the parents of the two deceased students, Loshuo and Chakho who were gunned down by Manipur forces on May 6. The members consoled the family members, particularly the two mothers who are still in a state of trauma, and joined them in expressing their sorrow and pains during this most difficult moment of their life which they are going through. Showing their love and concern, the KLEE also extended financial assistance to the two families.
CCC settles Nov 18 accident case
KOHIMA: Chiephobozou Central Council (CCC) has settled the hit and run case of November 18, 2009 at Chiephobozou by a zonal taxi bearing NL-03T0 261. The council stated that henceforth none of the parties which include driver of the vehicle Akum Yimchunger and the victims Kevichüsa Keditsu and Lhoubeituo Kezie-o should avenge each other in regard to the case adding a fine of Rs.50,000 would be charged if any of the party violated the settlement.
Bamboo poly house construction training
DIMAPUR: A hands- on bamboo poly house construction training would be held on June third week at Nagaland bamboo resource centre, 6 mile Dimapur. The Nagaland bamboo development agency in collaboration with Horticulture department is developing a prototype of a low cost bamboo poly house for implementation under horticulture mission in state. Interested entrepreneurs for the training and taking up project could contact the office of Nagaland bamboo development agency, 6 mile Dimapur by submitting an application form before June 9.
KBPF monthly meeting
KOHIMA: The Kohima Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship (KBPF) will have the 1st monthly meeting on Monday at 7 am at Pochury Baptist Church, Kohima, with sharing and leader Pastor Moba Konyak. All Sr. pastor, pastor, associate pastor and asst. pastor are to attend the prayer meeting.
EDSSU joint meeting
DIMAPUR: East Dimapur Sumi Student Union has convened a joint meeting on June 6, 4 pm at the residence of SI Akheto Yeptho banker, middle colony purana bazaar. All advisors, former executive union members and executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DSSU caution shops selling ‘Gutkhas’
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Sumi Student Union (DSSU) has cautioned all shops under Dimapur to stop selling ‘Gutkhas’ near schools and colleges. Union cautioned that shopkeepers would be penalized if they were caught selling ‘Gutkhas’.
DIS Niuland informs bogus teachers
DIMAPUR: Deputy Inspector of School Nuiland, Kitoli Naje has informed all the bogus and absentee teachers to collect personal show cause notice from office undersigned within June 7 to 12, failing which the office would not be held responsible.
NTC 6th foundation day celebration
DIMAPUR: Nito Theological College (SBAK) Nito Mount Zunheboto would be observing 6th foundation day on June 9, 9 am at college campus. The college has extended invitation to all founding members, donors and sponsors of the college.
VDB secretaries meeting
DIMAPUR: Emergency meeting of VDB secretaries union under RD block Kuhuboto has been convened on June 8, 10 am at the residence of junior engineer Thahekhu village Tokiho, Dimapur. All VDB secretaries, village level assistant and village council chairman under RD block Kuhuboto have been requested to attend the meeting.
Peren ACCC clarifies
DIMAPUR: The 7th Peren ACCC has clarified that the present president of Old Mpai village unit was Bidalu and the name of Pikoi, which appeared in local dailies on May 30 was not known to the ACCC. Informing this in a press note, Peren ACCC president, Kerangau said Peren ACCC/DCC had nothing to worry or regret ‘bogus’ resignations.
CSUKCK to release souvenir
DIMAPUR: Chakhesang Students’ Union Kohima College Kohima (CSUKCK) has informed that the union would be releasing souvenir in commemoration of its silver jubilee celebration. In this regard, union has requested all its former presidents to submit two passport size photos each to Quality Care Shop, near Vijaya Bank Kohima on or before August 20 or contact the union at 9856501160/9402086129.
5th module ASHA training at Kiphire
DIMAPUR: ASHA training on 5th module for absentees and dropouts of Kiphire district was held from May 31 to June 3 at CMO conference hall, Kiphire. CMO Dr. I. Singit Jamir in his keynote address encouraged ASHAs to work more sincerely with voluntary dedication as they were the only service providers at the grass-root level. Deputy CMO Dr. Khriesi, DPM P. Ritse and BPM Tsointhe were the resource persons of the training programme who covered all topics included in the 5th module. A total of ASHAs along with two ASHA coordinators attended the training.
Pochury language diploma certificate
DIMAPUR: Successful candidates of Pochury language diploma course examination have been informed to collect the certificate from Zerüsie, secretary (admn) Pochury Institute of Literatures on or before June 10 during office hours. The roll numbers are 0010, 0009, 0011, 0021, 0018, 0019, 0020, 0012, 0015, 0007, 0017, 0014, 0005, 0002, 0013, 0016, 0004, 0022, 0006 and 0001.
Ghathashi VDBU conference held
DIMAPUR: VDB Union (VDBU) RD Block, Ghathashi held its 10th annual conference on May 28 where more than 100 delegates including VCC, GBs, VDB secretary of Ghathashi attended. Union also inducted the new office bearers which included Hoshika Achumi as joint secretary, Kakheto Chishi as union banker and other advisory board members. Meanwhile, the union has expressed gratitude to Ghokimi village and Ghathashi Town for sponsoring and hosting the conference.

DIMAPUR: Chishilimi Student Union has elected new office bearers for Dimapur unit and Kohima unit, Esther Yeptho as Chairwomen Dimapur, Inoholi Chishi as Secretary Dimapur, Toshika Kiba as Chairman Kohima and Hekato Chishi as Secretary Kohima.
Lost and found
DIMAPUR: Documents belonging to Esther Konyak C. N. Nenio Kape, L. Litonili Aye and Toshirenla was found at Nagarjan, Dimapur. Rightful owners have been informed to collect the documents at Log Inn Enterprises, Kuda (Nagarjan) village, Dimapur or contact 9436065947/224856.
Auotrickshaw found
DIMAPUR: An auotrickshaw bearing Regd No. NL-01/T7200, Chassis No. 24FBFK 54840, Engine No. AEMBFK 86831 was found by town command (GPRN/NSCN) in Khermahal. Rightful owner have been informed to submit original documents and collect the autorickshaw within 3 days to town commander office (GPRN/NSCN).
BSD condemns
DIMAPUR: Bengal Samaj Dimapur (BSD) has condemned the reported move of All Assam Bengali Students and Youth Federation Karbi Anglong to support any movement not directly related to them or having any bearing upon the community.
BSD convenor K.K Paul in a press release stated that Bengalis in Nagaland and nearby areas have being living peacefully with Nagas and not other neighboring communities from time immemorial and that any attempt at disrupting the age old relationships by “covered means” was untenable and deserved condemnation. BSD has appealed to all not to disturb the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the area.
ANPSTA meeting
KOHIMA: The All Nagaland Pre-Service Teacher’s Association(ANPSTA) Kohima unit has convened an emergency meeting on June 12, 10 at NSF conference hall.
RCN meeting
DIMAPUR: Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) has convened a general meeting on June 10, 10 am at Rongmei Baptist Association Hall Jalukie town.
