GYCD fetes HSLC, HSSLC successful candidates

Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur (GYCD) organized felicitation programme for the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC on Sunday at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS, Dimapur).
Altogether, the community felicitated 60 successful students including 40 HLSC candidates and 20 HSSLC candidates where five students made up to top 50; two in top 3, top 24, 45 and 47. Various leaders from the community exhorted on the occasion. Delivering motivational speech, Arthur Edward, administrator, LFHSS expressed the beauty of life with its differences. He said people have lot of differences in ideas which is natural, however he said these differences become beautiful when put together. He also demanded disciple from the students and urged them not to forget their customs and traditions. to maintain setting as a way to achieve success, he called upon the students to work harder and set a goal to become someone tomorrow with character and further asked the students to approach the elders for any guidance.
In his short speech, Shekar Chetri, president GYCD expressed that it was the proud moment for the community and called all the Gorkha community to join hands in enhancing the educational endeavours and also expressed hope to see more students from the community in the top list in days to come.
Chairman, Dimapur Gorkha Union Kumar Subba expressed happiness that many students from the community excelled in the recently declared HSLC and HSSLC exams adding one should start engaging towards pro-educational programmes.
Exhorting the gathering, L.B Pradhan, chief manager, SBI main branch, Dimapur and also a member of Gorkha elder’s forum said students should excel in their fields as they are the pillar of the community.
The occasion was also marked with group dances and special songs.
