Chamdil Naga People Organization (CNPO) has expressed its decision to support for “Indo-Naga” political dialogue for peaceful political solution. CNPO informed that the decision was arrived at a public meeting on June 4 at Chandel, after thorough deliberation on the prevailing situation. A series of public declarations were also made after the meeting, that the Chamdil Naga people considered the Naga candidates who contested in ADC elections despite protest by Naga people as “anti-Nagas” and stated that the organization would hold up the UNC’s May 16 decision to initiate action.
Organization also condemned the Manipur government’s denial of entry to NSCN (I-M) “ato kilonser” Th. Muivah to visit his native village and other Naga areas, the killing of innocent civilians and leaving hundreds physically wounded by Manipur state security forces. CNPO further alleged that the government of India (GOI) was back-tracking from its commitment. Meanwhile, the Naga people of Chamdil have also urged Muivah to pay a visit to Chamdil, Chandel district at “his convenient time”.
