Nagas benefiting from Road Shows: Rio

Nagas are getting much benefits through the government sponsored Road Shows, state chief minister Neiphiu Rio said. The chief minister speaking as chief guest during state wide Road Show of Longleng district coinciding with 58th Phom Day held on June 5 and 6 at local ground, Longleng, a DIPR bulletin stated Monday.
Rio stated that government’s initiatives to organize Road Shows was to enable people to show case various traditions and culture and government’s development activities.
Pointing out that Longleng district has been declared as “land of handicrafts”, the chief minister urged people of Longleng to take more part in work culture and develop new “craft technologies” so that good finished products could be exhibited not only in the state but also in the country. Further, he disclosed that during the “year of entrepreneur”, 2000 youths would be selected and send for training in different fields to promote their skills.
Further, stating that he had arrived Longleng by road just to witness development works especially roads, the chief minister that assured his government would cooperate and bring development to the district.
State chief secretary Lalthara, delivering keynote address, said the name Naga was acknowledged all over the world because of their rich culture. He said that government has various programmes to assist young entrepreneurs stand in their own feet.
