Members of village health committee (VHC) under Mokokchung district went for an exposure trip to Mopungchuket sub-centre on June 8. The trip was the first of its kind under communitisation where members got the opportunity to interact, exchange ideas and views to get yield better results.
During a short programme held at community Hall, Mopungchuket, deputy chief medical officer, Mokokchung, Dr. S. S. Akaba highlighted the activities taken up under communitisation in the district.
He also said the VHC had a great responsibility in encouraging the community for active participation and at the same time urged them to work diligently for the promotion of their respective sub-centre and the community.
While sharing experiences and achievements of Mopungchuket sub-centre, chairman VHC, Rev. Pona Jamir said the success of sub-centre was because of the co-ordination and dedication between the VHC, village councils, church leaders, health workers and the community.
He also shared about the ongoing activities and initiatives made by the VHC members suitable for the sub-centre.
He said the priority of the sub-centre was to purchase medicines according to the requirements of the community and transparency should be maintained to keep it functioning smoothly.
It is to be mentioned that Mopungchuket sub-centre received awards for the best performing sub-centre and model sub-centre under communitisation from Mokokchung district.
