Village council chairmen of Molungyimsen, Molungkimong and Yimjenkimong under Changkikong range, Mokokchung district have expressed dismay over the negligence by state government towards the development of road connecting the three villages.
In a press communiqué chairman Yimjenkimong village council L. Moa; O. Temjen, chairman Molungyimsen village council and L Meren, Molungkimong village council said the road from Tuli till Y junction, Changki had not seen any development and remained un-motorable all the year round especially the stretch from Tuli to Molungyimsen village that even bodies for burial have to be carried to the village on foot.
Chairmen alleged that state government had not improved the road condition since attainment of statehood.
Further, the chairmen said commercial and private vehicles refused to ply because of the poor road condition and NST bus service which have been plying for the people of three villages have stopped, making it more difficult for the villagers especially at the time of emergencies.
The chairmen also reiterated the promises made by ministers and MLAs for decade to improve the road condition and despite several elections the villagers have been totally ignored.
Council chairmen have appealed to authorities to inspect the road condition on Mokokchung district .
Stating that all development began first with good road connectivity, chairmen of the three villages requested the state government to look into the matter at the earliest and ease the plight of the villages and its people.
