NE agri expo on Nov 23

NE Agri Expo on the theme ‘Prosperity through agriculture’ would be held from November 23 to 27 in Dimapur. The steering committee would be headed by Chief Minister, Co-ordination Committee to be headed by the Agriculture Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Agriculture).
An official bulletin informed that meeting of coordination committee would be held immediately under the chairmanship of APC Nagaland to work out details of work distribution and to prepare draft programme so that Prime Minister could be invited to inaugurate the NE Agri Expo 2010.
State chief minister Neiphiu Rio earlier on May 21 convened a meeting at the permanent site in Dimapur. After detailed deliberation it was decided that the International Exhibition pavilion would be constructed by the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency.
Tourism amenities Centre adjacent to Agri Expo site to be completed and furnished for use during the Expo 2010, Correspondence to be immediately taken up with Minister for Agriculture Government of India, Development of North East Region/NEC and other agencies for funding and sponsorship, BAR chart to be worked out for completion of various works in a time bound manner, Additional Chief Secretary & F.C to prepare State Logo for presentation with case box in three sizes of large, medium and small, proposed cold storage for market complex to be shifted towards the Horticulture Green Park area opposite proposed Khadi Plaza.
The meeting also suggested that permanent gate with motif/designed stone/menhirs would be constructed for which spot survey with report would be submitted to work out the final plan, it has decided to have the road show at Dimapur coinciding with NE Agri Expo, in order that communities that have been un-represented in the road shows were given opportunity to showcase their cultural activities on the opening and closing day of NE Agri Expo 2010.
