Nagaland government has asked the Aggrieved Teachers’ Association of Nagaland(ATAN) to furnish names of officials of the SIT/SVC who were accused of taking bribes, including the date of occurrence.
Further, the government through chief secretary Lalthara also asked ATAN to furnish names of persons who had given bribes with date and place of occurrence. Lalthara asked ATAN to furnish the above information “confidentially” to him within one week from the date of publication of the notice.
He warned ATAN that the government/SIT would initiate legal actions as per law if ATAN failed to substantiate the allegations.
The government has served the notice on the Convenor of ATAN following serious allegations made by the latter that officials of SIT/SVC had taken bribes as appeared in a section of the local press on May 13.Further, the government has responded to ATAN’s reaffirmation of its allegations and appeal to the government for constituting an investigating committee into its allegations, aspublished by the press on May 18.
