KTSU condemns physical attack

Kezo Town Students’ Union (KTSU) has condemned the assault on one Melesünü Zecho allegedly by Sheveyi, son of Neduta of Phek village, and his sister Rakholü and Seyiekielie of Menguzuma village on May 11 at Kohima.
Narrating the sequence of events, the union stated that two unidentified persons forcibly took Melesünü into a Tata mobile from Kitsoubozou colony at around 3.30 pm where she was handed over to the accused at Don Bosco Colony.
The accused then tight the victim’s leg and hand with rope and beat her black and blue with a bamboo till 8 pm accusing her of stealing a mobile phone belonging to Rakholü.
Further it also alleged that the accused threatened her with a hammer and scissor and even went to the extent of frightening her that she would be paraded naked on the street.
The released also alleged that on May 7 last, the victim’s text books and note books were found torn and burnt in her school, Rastrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Kohima where all three accused are believed to be studying.
While condemning the life attempt and assault on its member, the union urged the competent authority to award befitting action against the culprits and called upon all right thinking citizens and social groups to come forward and demand justice.
